What is medrapid?
medrapid is a medical service for the storage and management of knowledge and information. Both the system and the contents are subject to a multi-level quality management. The medrapid system has been developed since 1999 in a series of research projects around the University of Heidelberg.
What's the purpose of medrapid?
Enable an accurate and efficient exchange of information between all stakeholders in health care based on a standardized vocabulary. Across languages. Across all doctrines.
Who runs medrapid?
medrapid consists of a core strategic team, several developers and a number of editors and authors. The contributors analyze classical sources of knowledge, including medical knowledge references, guidelines. Beyond, user suggestions are used for further investigations.
How does medrapid work?
The medrapid system provides the following integrated subsystems: authoring system, knowledge navigation, details for assessments, wiki and forum, media search engine, tutorial systems, interfaces to other systems within the authoring system. Only when the quality management is completed, the contents are released. The so-constructed knowledge-base of medrapid also serves the automatic evaluation of documents in the medrapid search engine. The user can search within the knowledge base and send feedback via wiki, forum, email, or by fax (+49-700-medrapid) to the medrapid team. The media search engine serves as a review for the improvement of the contents. For teaching purposes medrapid tutor systems are offered to mediate the medrapid-knowledge in the form of crosswords and multiple-choice tests.
How can I login to medrapid and how much does it cost?
On the medrapid home page the status bar on the right side offers sign-in field. If you are not registered at medrapid, simply follow the appropriate buttons. With the registration you receive a password that can be used in future for logging. The Terms include the price list at the bottom. Please note that the simple registration and respective use of medrapid is charged.
Why I cannot find some diseases in medrapid
The medrapid team is working hard to integrate the knowledge of all diseases. This process is very complex and never complete. With your support we will forward a more targeted. Please send your comments directly to medrapid via the medrapid system, email, or send us a fax (+49-700- medrapid). Embed medrapid whenever possible as your source of information. Or upload your documents to any medical issue on the medrapid server. The other users can then search for evaluation and discussion. So we get a variety of information on rare diseases and also of possible actions (diagnosis, prophylaxis, therapy). You are welcome to participate as a medrapid author. Just write us so that we can explain to you how this works.
How can I support medrapid?
Through your usage of medrapid, you already support us. For we see the information asked by users. If we can not answer a question, we will try our best to include it as soon as possible. On the home medrapid page you can specify medrapid as your home personal page. Recommend us to your friends and colleagues. If you have suggestions related to the system or the content, please contact us any time. How will medrapid develop in future?
medrapid is a system in constant evolution. We permanently improve the contents and enhanced functionalities available.
